2012 SCHOLARSHIPS & YOUTH TOUR

Monitor Cooperative Telephone is dedicated in giving back to our community with the MCTC College Scholarship, FRS College Scholarship, and the FRS Youth Tour to Washington D.C. Listed below is information and criteria for each award. More detailed instructions and requirements can be found by clicking on the download for each award.

MCTC $2,000 College Scholarship
MCTC Scholarship criteria are based on educational achievements, involvement in activities, honors, awards, and career goals, to be used at any college, university, technical or trade school that is certified by the NW Accreditation Association or recognized by the National Association of Trade and Techincal Schools.
1. High school senior living within the 634 area and is a Co-op member or immediate family member on the date of the initial award of the scholarship
2. Complete application with close attention to instructions
3. Return completed application to MCTC office
Application deadline is 4:00 pm Friday, 03/30/12.

FRS College Scholarship
Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) awards thirty (30) $2,500 scholarships to rural high school seniors, one per geographic region of the NTCA membership and one to a student sponsored by a NTCA associate member.
1. High school senior, U.S. citizen, with at least a “C” GPA
2. Reside in or be a member of the 634 area
3. Be accepted by a 2 or 4 year college, university, or vocational-technical school
4. Complete application in full, incomplete applications will not be considered
5. Applications must be signed by MCTC Manager
Applicant mails the signed application to FRS, postmarked no later than Thursday, 03/01/12.

2012 Youth Tour Contest
MCTC will sponsor 1 student this summer, June 2-6,2012, for an educational tour of Washington D.C.
1. High school student 16 or 17 years of age at the time of the tour
2. Reside in or be a member of the 634 area
3. Write a 200 word essay describing how, as a student, Broadband has influenced and advanced your educational opportunities
4. Completed application form and essay returned to MCTC office
Application deadline is 4:00 pm Friday, 03/23/12.
